The upcoming 60th quadrennial presidential election of the United States will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2024. In this election, voters will elect a president and vice president for four-year terms. In the election, incumbent President Joe Biden, a member of the Democratic Party, will run for re-election.
His predecessor, Republican Donald Trump, will seek re-election to a second and non-consecutive term.
If Trump wins, he will become only the second president since Grover Cleveland to achieve this feat. If both are nominated by their respective parties, it would be the first contested presidential election since the 1956 election.
On the other hand, several rival candidates have also announced their candidature to get their respective party symbols in the elections. The inauguration of the winning president is scheduled to take place on January 20, 2025.
